Stream SelectionCollege Selection

Career decisions made at 15–17 set the direction of education and professional life for years ahead. Yet most Indian students make these choices with incomplete information. Our career guidance content covers stream selection (Science PCM/PCB, Commerce, Arts), the career pathways each stream opens, how to choose colleges, what competitive exams to prepare for, and how to align academic choices with long-term career goals. All guidance is grounded in realistic assessments of Indian professional pathways.

Frequently Asked Questions

What stream should I choose after Class 10?

Choose based on three factors: your Class 10 academic strengths, your genuine subject interests, and a broad career direction. Science PCM suits technology and engineering paths; PCB suits healthcare and biology. Commerce suits business, finance, and law. Arts suits policy, media, and social sciences. All streams lead to strong careers with the right effort.

Can an Arts student become a CA or get into IIM?

Arts students cannot pursue CA directly (which requires Commerce), but they can absolutely get into IIMs. IIM MBA admissions through CAT are open to graduates from all streams. Many IIM graduates have Arts or Sciences backgrounds. The CAT tests quantitative ability, verbal reasoning, and data interpretation — not stream-specific knowledge.
