Frequently Asked Questions

How many months before should I start serious board exam preparation?

Ideally 6 months for Class 12 boards and 4–5 months for Class 10. The first phase (months 1–3) should focus on completing NCERT and building chapter notes. The second phase (months 3–5) on previous year papers and identifying weak areas. The final phase on revision only — no new topics.

Are NCERT books enough for CBSE board exams?

For most subjects, NCERT mastery covers 70–80% of the board exam. Mathematics may benefit from R.D. Sharma for extra practice; Science from Lakhmir Singh. However, NCERT should always be primary — reference books are supplements, not replacements.

What happens if I fail in a CBSE board subject?

CBSE offers a Compartment Examination approximately 2 months after the main board result for students who fail in one or two subjects. Students can also re-appear in failed subjects the following year. Results showing "Compartment" are not the same as "Fail" — the opportunity to clear remains.
